Support the platform we're building.
Arkansas Serve is a small Arkansas software company mapping every volunteer opportunity in the state and giving schools, courts and nonprofits one place to verify service hours. No investors, no grant cycles. If you want it to keep being built, you can help pay for it.
A working product, not a plan
Support here buys engineering time and running costs on software that is already live. This is what your money keeps going.
The statewide map
Every listed opportunity in Arkansas, searchable by county, with no account needed to look.
The hours ledger
Students log hours, organizations verify them, and the record survives the school year.
County build-out
Each county has to be researched and seeded by hand before its page is worth opening.
Keeping it free to browse
Volunteers and families never pay. Organizations list at no cost. Schools and districts are what the business charges.
What it costs to run
Small, and worth saying out loud before asking anyone for anything.
Where the $2,500 launch fund goes
| Line | Planned |
|---|---|
| Total |
These are planned allocations, not a report of money already spent. When the fund is spent we publish what it actually went to, line by line, including anything that came in under or over.
Four ways, and two of them are free
Supporting the platform is optional for everyone, always. Nothing on Arkansas Serve is behind any of this.
Monthly support
The steadiest kind of help. Monthly support covers the running costs above, which is the difference between the site being maintained and the site being someone's abandoned side project.
The launch fund
A single push to cover insurance, the first year of infrastructure and the manual work of seeding the first counties. The breakdown is right above — no vague "operations" line.
Sponsor a county
For chambers, cities, banks and businesses: underwrite a county's presence on the platform and appear on that county's page as the sponsor. This is an ordinary commercial agreement with a written scope and an invoice — not a gift, and priced like the marketing spend it is.
Support without money
Several things help more than $20 does:
- Claim your organization's page and post one real opportunity.
- Tell a school counselor or service coordinator the site exists.
- Send us a county we have covered thinly and tell us who's active there.
In plain terms
Read this first. It matters more than the buttons above.
- Arkansas Serve is a for-profit business, not a charity. It is not a nonprofit, it has no 501(c)(3) status, and it is not raising money on behalf of any cause, program, school or group of people. You would be supporting a small software company that builds a product you want to exist.
- Your support is not a charitable donation and is not tax-deductible. Money sent here is ordinary business income to us. We can give you a normal business receipt; we cannot give you a donation acknowledgement, because it would not be true.
- You are not buying anything, and support buys no influence. It does not move an organization up in search, change which opportunities get listed, affect whether anyone's service hours are approved, or unlock any feature. Everything free stays free whether you support us or not.
- Organizations never have to support us to use the platform. Listing opportunities and verifying hours costs organizations nothing, and no one on the platform will be asked for money as a condition of anything.
- Sponsorships are commercial agreements. A county sponsorship is scoped in writing and invoiced. It is a marketing placement, not a contribution, and it is treated as taxable revenue like every other sale.
- If the platform shuts down. Support already given is not refundable, but recurring support can be cancelled at any time from wherever you set it up, and we will say so publicly and stop taking new support before the site goes anywhere.
Questions before you decide
They come straight to the owner — including the awkward ones about money, and the "what happens if you lose interest" one.
